Linnansaari huts

Linnansaari National Park in the middle of Lake Haukivesi, a part of greater Saimaa Lake complex, represents Finnish lakeland at its best. With its hundreds of islands and broad open waters it is a paradise for boaters. The main island, Linnansaari, has marked hiking trails with many interesting sights.
On Linnansaari Island, at Sammakkoniemi camping, there are 5 huts, a small cafeteria, campfire places, cooking shelter, sauna, well and dry toilets. There is no electricity on the island.

Each hut has 2 bunk beds (sleeps tot. 4 persons), table and chairs. You can book either a private hut or dorm beds in a mixed dorm. The room/ dorm price include the use of washing room in the morning. Traditional Finnish wood heated sauna can be booked separately.

The camping is accessible only by boat or canoe. There is a regular boat service, taxi boats and canoes for rent in SaimaaHoliday Oravi and SaimaaHoliday Rantasalmi (Holiday Centre Järvisydän).

Timetable:
Oravi-Linnansaari at 9.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m.
Linnansaari-Oravi at 12 noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Linnansaari-Porosalmi (Rantasalmi) 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Porosalmi (Rantasalmi)-Linnansaari 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Prices from Oravi: 8,50 €/person/one way; 4 €/child/one way.
From Porosalmi: 14 €/person/one way; 5 €/child/one way.
10 % discount with HI membership card.
