Matkailutila Haapamäki

Matkailutila Haapamäki is located in a beautiful rural setting in the village of Vaskivesi, about 19 kilometres (12 miles) from the town of Virrat and in the middle of the Finnish Lake District. The long and winding waterways with their numerous canals are a memorable experience for those paddling or sailing in this area. Virrat is a town that has many beautiful villas, and the rich cultural heritage offers plenty to see and do, which makes Virrat a popular destination.

Matkailutila Haapamäki is open from early May to late September, but you can also stay with us at other times if booked in advance. You will be accommodated either in 2-4-bed rooms in the main building, a log cabin, 4-6-bed cottages with all the conveniences, or in one of the outbuildings. In the summer the farm has 100 beds and in winter 65 by advance booking. Haapamäki is a perfect venue for meetings and even bigger events are possible as we can seat 150 people. Our farm is also a popular venue for school trips and confirmation camps.

Outside you will find a sports field, a children’s play area and a covered barbecue place. It is also worth visiting the farm museum, or going for a walk on the nature trail or the historical trail. On the waterside you will find an ordinary sauna and a spacious smoke sauna, a mooring place for boats and a beach. Located at the base of the Tuomisto hill, you will find a traditional Finnish lean-to (laavu) and a hut (kota) which can also be used by our guests.
