Virpiniemen retkeilyhotelli

The hostel is part of the Virpiniemi Sport Institute, located in the municipality of Haukipudas and the village of Kello, about 23 kilometres (14.5 miles) north of the city of Oulu. The hostel offers great opportunities for outdoor sport and hiking. In winter the place becomes a ski resort. There is also a barbecue area and, for children’s enjoyment, an adventure forest.

Hostel Academica

Hostel Academica, Helsinki is located in the city center! All rooms are with private facilities and with a small kitchenette with refrigerator. Morning sauna and swimming are free of charge! All the rooms have a private toilet, shower and kitchenette with a refrigerator in the room. Kitchen equipment is available. Bed linen and towel are included in the room price. There is a possibility for internet connection in some of the rooms.

Eurohostel

Eurohostel offers a free morning sauna, Wi-Fi, no curfew or lockout and is easy to come to by tram. Eurohostel is one of the largest all year around open hostels in Scandinavia. The hostel is located in central Helsinki in a unique part of the town called Katajanokka close by the Market Square. The city centre sights, shops, restaurants are all within walking distance and the ferries from Stockholm and Tallinn arrive just a few steps away. If you don´t want to walk 10 minutes to the city centre, trams number 4 and 4T run next to the hostel. There is a table with a chair and at least one lockable wardrobe in each room. All rooms types have separate single bed(s), no double bed or bunk bed available. Twin rooms available also in upgraded room category with television. Each of the five floors has its own self-service kitchen with dishes, cutlery, hot plates, microwave oven, lockable refrigerator and cable-TV. Facilities are shared in all room types - every floor has separate toilet and shower facilities for men and women. Fully licenced Restaurant Katajanmarja on the street level serves breakfast, has A la Carte list and excellent Pizza list! Vending machines at the lobby for late night travellers. Hostel Ahopää

Fell Centre Kiilopää is the gateway to Urho Kekkonen National Park. Fell Centre offers cozy accommodation, tasty food, guided skiing, snowshoeing and hiking trips. Unforgettable moments can be experienced by swimming in an arctic fell stream and bathing in a genuine smoke sauna. During high tourist season guided skiing and snowshoeing tours are free for guests staying in Fell Centre Kiilopää. Guided tours are arranged from Sunday to Friday from the beginning of February to early May and during the height of the autumn season. Kiilopää is an ideal place for people who enjoy arctic nature, outdoor activities and stillness. Skiing tracks (about 190 kilometres) and hiking trails start from the courtyard. Kiilopää area provides the change to experience the real Lapland! In youth hostel Ahopää there are 5 rooms for 4 persons, 2 for 6 persons and 2 for two persons. Rooms are with bunkbeds, toilets on the corridor. There is common kitchen and drying cabinets in the same building. Linen and towels, sauna in the evenings and final cleaning are included to the accommodation price. All the rooms are smoke free.

Vaihelan tila

Open all year round, Vaihelan tila is a countryside hostel that offers cosy accommodation surrounded by beautiful nature. The hostel is located in Joutsa, in the lovely village of Pappinen. Here you can get to know authentic Finnish countryside where cattle raising and forestry are still a big part of the everyday life of the locals. There is a functioning farm adjacent to the hostel. Learn more about the history of Finnish agriculture in the farm’s own museum and get to know the animals around the farm.

Tapion tupa

A rustic meeting, dining and holiday centre in the Kalajoki sand dunes. In addition to the main building, the farmyard has several farm buildings: Wäentupa, an imposing loft and storehouses of various sizes. Hostel accommodation with en-suite facilities in Hostel Pytinki.

Matkatupa

Matkatupa is situated by the southern shore of Lake Kemijärvi. Good swimming beach, fishing grounds and cloudberry bogs nearby. Fishing licenses are available at the hostel. Free use of boat for our guests. The area is also well suitable for caravanners. State hunting grounds nearby. If necessary, the guests will be called for at Kemijärvi railway or bus station.

Korholan Kartano

Korholan Kartano is located 2 kilometres (1.3 miles) north west of the centre of Rautalampi, on the shore of Liimattalansalmi. The hostel is surrounded by a traditional Finnish manor house milieu with its beautiful grounds and waterside pavilion. Korholan Kartano is also an ideal venue for meetings, family celebrations, courses and other events. The manor has a good boat connection to the historic Rautalammin reitti, one of the longest water routes in Finland, reaching over 400 kilometres (250 miles).

SKO-hostel

Savonlinna Christian college is situated only 6 km from the center of the city of Savonlinna with regular local bus connections. The college offers services for organisers or group excursion as well as travellers. Accommodation for 100 persons, catering services, facilities for training and activities, conference rooms, audio-visual equipment, teaching equipment for music, recording studio, swimming facilities and sauna by lake, large green areas.

In the countryside, surrounded by the wilderness, you will find the peaceful Hostel WillaNuttu, an ideal place to stay or hold meetings and other events. WillaNuttu is just over a quarter of an hour’s drive from Savonlinna town centre.

Hostel Visatupa

Located north of the Polar Circle, Visatupa is a working dairy farm right next to an unspoilt lake. The proprietors offer a warm welcome and look after their guests well. Visitors can also learn about farm work and the process of milk production.

Hirvikoski Retkeilyhotelli

The country hostel Hirvikoski is located in the West of Finland, in the municipality of Toholampi and the village of Sykäräinen, by the river Lestijoki. The hostel is open all year round, also at Christmas. The hostel has apartment units, each with two twin rooms that share a shower and a toilet. The rates include bed linen, towel and breakfast. We also have a slide for wheelchairs and a disabled toilet. For guests’ comfort we have a lounge, TV, WiFi and an internet-connected computer as well as a laundry room. Meals are available by arrangement. The hostel’s location near the upper stream of river Lestijoki provides inexpensive accommodation for those wishing to explore the surrounding rapids, bogs and wilderness.

Matkailutila Haapamäki is located in a beautiful rural setting in the village of Vaskivesi, about 19 kilometres (12 miles) from the town of Virrat and in the middle of the Finnish Lake District. The long and winding waterways with their numerous canals are a memorable experience for those paddling or sailing in this area. Virrat is a town that has many beautiful villas, and the rich cultural heritage offers plenty to see and do, which makes Virrat a popular destination.

Timitra Hostel

Timitra Hostel operates in North Karelia in Lieksa town about 1 mile from the town centre close to Lieksanjoki river. The castle like building was originally designed to serve as the national training centre of the Finnish Border Guard. This gives the hostel a masculine atmosphere. The accommodation facilities are on the second floor and consist of rooms for groups of 4 to 5 people as well as double and single rooms. On this floor there is also a spacious sauna area with showers and toilets. On the first floor there is a café restaurant.

Kartano Hostel

Kartano Hostel, with its adjoining manor house, is open all year round. The hostel is located next to the rapidly flowing river Kokemäenjoki, approximately 1.5 kilometres (1 mile) from Kokemäki town centre and 40 kilometres (30 miles) from the town of Pori. The farm is surrounded by lively countryside, with places, such as Puurijärvi-Isosuo National Park nearby. In the summer guests can pick peas and berries on the farm. There are good train and bus connections to the area. Transfers from the railway station or bus stop to the hostel can also be arranged. Kartano Hostel offers bed & breakfast accommodation to families, groups, independent travellers as well as business travellers. Also backpackers are catered for, with prices starting from 15 euro / night (bed linen not included). Our rooms are of hotel standard. Room types vary from single and twin rooms to 7-bedded dormitories for backpackers. We also have rooms suitable for guests travelling with a dog. Kartano is a non-smoking hostel, with WiFi, a number of lounges to relax and socialise in and many of our rooms have a TV. There is also a satellite TV in the living room. The rates include bed linen and towels, and also the use of sauna. Kartano Hostel also rents bicycles. Fishing is possible on river Kokemäenjoki. The bedrooms are in the manor’s main building and other buildings around the yard. There is a lot to see on this working farm. There is also a farm shop, selling fresh produce. Tours around the farm are available for groups.

Ski Hostel Ruka

Ski Hostel Ruka is situated in the Ruka Ski Resort near the town of Kuusamo. The slopes start from the doorsteps of the hostel. You can choose from the popular ‘Saarua slope’ or the traditional ‘Vuosseli slope’. Or you can try several other slopes a bit further away. There are also activities available especially for the kids at the ‘Rosa & Rudolf Adventure Route’ by the Vuosseli slope. Snowboarders will love ‘Battery Park’ at Saarua. If you don’t have your own skiing equipment, don’t worry, you can rent equipment near the hostel. And also those who enjoy cross-country skiing will be happy to see the tracks right by the hostel as well as a snowmobile route. During summertime the hiking possibilities are endless! The most popular hiking route in Kuusamo – if not in the whole country – ‘Karhunkierros Trail’ (Bear’s Trail) runs next to the hostel. Ski Hostel Ruka has rooms for 1 to 4 people. Each room is 22 square metres in size and contains a double bed and a sofa-bed. Each room also has their own kitchenette, which includes a fridge, microwave oven, cooker and coffee machine. All rooms have their own bathroom, TV, drying cabinet (for clothes) and Wifi. Ski Hostel Ruka operates in the same premises as ‘Vuosselin Helmi’ accommodation services. The hostel is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from November to April. From May until the end of October it has a 24-hour phone service. The reception is adjacent to ‘Wings Bar Restaurant’ on the ground floor of the building. Breakfast is available for groups when booked in advance. The restaurant area can also be used as a conference room for up to 50 people. In the same building as the hostel you will also find an activity holiday company ‘Lapin Huuma’, which offers a wide range of activities and adventures around the year.

Hostel River

Located in the town of Pori, Hostel River is a cosy, peaceful and inexpensive hostel by the beautiful river Kokemäenjoki. Although the building itself is an old office building, protected by the National Board of Antiquities, the interior has just been renovated and refurbished.

Linnansaari huts

Linnansaari National Park in the middle of Lake Haukivesi, a part of greater Saimaa Lake complex, represents Finnish lakeland at its best. With its hundreds of islands and broad open waters it is a paradise for boaters. The main island, Linnansaari, has marked hiking trails with many interesting sights. On Linnansaari Island, at Sammakkoniemi camping, there are 5 huts, a small cafeteria, campfire places, cooking shelter, sauna, well and dry toilets. There is no electricity on the island.

Hostel Borea

Have a good night sleep aboard s/s Bore! The former steamship is now permanently anchored on the banks of the River Aura, situated in front of Forum Marinum Maritime Centre and within walking distance from Turku harbor and Turku castle. There is also a direct bus connection (bus number 1, bus stop Forum Marinum) from Turku airport. Free parking area for cars and coaches is provided for the guests. Walk through the parking area towards the old crane on the river bank, then turn to the right and follow the fenced passage to the Bore ship. At the hostel there are 43 cabins (singles, twins, triples and quads) with own toilet and shower. The bed linen, towel and buffet breakfast is included as well as morning sauna. In the hostel lounge our guests will find TV, daily newspapers, small library, kitchenette and baggage room. Free wireless internet access. At the reception we sell tickets to the Bore museum exhibition aboard as well as TurkuCards and HI-membership cards. On the Bore-ship there is also cafeteria, lunch restaurant and the Baltic hall where banquets, meetings and concerts are being arranged. Welcome to Turku!
