Hostel Suomenlinna has been chosen as the Hostel of the year 2018. The hostel hosted by the Organization for Outdoor Education in Finland is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Suomenlinna, Helsinki. The selection was made by the Government of the Finnish Hostel Association on the basis of proposals received from hostel customers. The selection emphasized feedback about atmosphere and comfort, good service and the Hostels unique location.

The hostel’s policies and choices are strongly environmental friendly. Hostel Suomenlinna has a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. ”,
says Irja Halenius, the Secretary General of the Finnish Hostel Association.
Hostel Suomenlinna has 39 beds and its guests consist of camp schools, conference and banquet participants and tourists from all over the world. Unique location combined with good service experience and affordable hostel accommodation are the keys to the success of Hostel Suomenlinna.
The Finnish Hostel Association rewards a successful hostel under the Hostel of the year -name every year. The Hostel of the year has been selected since 2004. The Hostel of the year 2017 was Dream Hostel & Hotel in Tampere.
