CheapSleep Helsinki is a relaxed, budget-friendly, and modern hostel located in Helsinki’s historic Puu-Vallila area. The hostel is especially popular among young people and backpackers, as staying in shared rooms is affordable, and the atmosphere at CheapSleep is lively and friendly.

Opened in 2012, the hostel underwent a complete renovation in the fall of 2016, offering cozy, clean, and secure facilities for budget travelers. Travelers from around the world come together at the hostel, and the hostel’s owners and staff also represent different nationalities. Guests are encouraged to spend time together and get to know each other. The hostel’s spaces are designed so that the vibrant common area doesn’t disturb guests’ sleep.

The spacious common area also features various gaming machines for entertainment, and vending machines offer drinks and snacks. Meals can be prepared in fully equipped guest kitchens. Groceries can be conveniently obtained from the grocery store located downstairs. The large and central communal space forms the heart of the hostel, where it’s enjoyable to meet fellow travelers.

CheapSleep has excellent connections to different parts of the city, with the city center easily accessible within 10 minutes. Bus and tram schedules are displayed on a screen in the lobby. The bohemian Kallio area is within walking distance, about a kilometer away. In addition to the grocery store, the same building also houses the tropical animal house Tropicario, a nice attraction for those interested in reptiles and lizards.

The hostel has a total of 276 beds in 38 rooms. There are various types of shared dormitory rooms available, with the largest being a 26-person shared room, as well as private rooms. Shared rooms are great for large groups and budget-conscious travelers. Couples, families, and those seeking privacy can choose from smaller private rooms and family rooms. Toilet and shower facilities are shared among guests, except for one double room that has its own bathroom.
