Gasthaus Vanha-Merivartioasema (Gasthaus Old Sea Guard Station) is located in a unique nature area in Kotka, which amazes with its beauty, clean air and unique landscapes. The hostel has a shared kitchen and lounge where the sea guards worked and spent their weekdays.

The upper floors of the hostel offer a wonderful view of the sea, where several small and large ships, sailboats and other types of boats pass by every day. With binoculars, you can see the nearest islands and passing ships in more detail and enjoy a wonderful sunrise with a cup of coffee.

The hostel’s courtyard house has double rooms with a private bathroom and one double room with its own entrance. The hostel’s main building has 1-4 person rooms with a shared bathroom, a double room with its own bathroom and a studio with its own entrance. You can rent just one room or even the whole hostel for a larger group. The rooms have a small desk and Wi-Fi connection. Bed linen and towels are included in the price.

The hostel’s other services include free parking, a fully equipped common kitchen and dining area for about 20 people, and a lounge area with a TV. The hostel also has a sauna, which is designed for larger groups as well. There is also a barbecue area in the yard.

Gasthaus Vanha-Merivartioasema (Gasthaus Old Sea Guard Station) is located in the seaside of Kotka city, which opens up almost unlimited possibilities for walkers and cyclists. From the hostel’s yard, you can take the stairs directly to the seashore, from where it is only a 5-minute walk to the Mansikkalahti beach. Katariinanpuisto park starts almost immediately after Mansikkalahti beach, and in addition, Sapokan puisto park and Kivipuisto park are also just a 5-minute walk away. The marina is located approximately 300 meters from the hostel. Kotka is Finland’s park capital, where you can find numerous archipelago and fishing trips, Maritime Center Vellamo and Maretarium aquarium.
