Linnunlahti Hostel (formerly ISLO Hostel) is open all year round and is located in a green, peaceful setting near the center of Joensuu. It’s a great accommodation choice for solo travelers, families, and groups alike.

The hostel is situated on the quiet Kalevankatu street and offers 24 cozy and practical rooms within one- or two-bedroom apartments. Each apartment includes a kitchen and a bathroom. The hostel is just a short walk from downtown services, Mehtimäki’s jogging trails, Joensuu Arena, the racetrack, the outdoor stage, and the Sports Park.

From the railway station, you can either enjoy a scenic 2-kilometer walk along the Pielisjoki river or take a local bus from Joensuu Market Square to the hostel. For those arriving by car, there is free parking in the hostel’s courtyard with heating poles, and free street parking is also available.

The beautiful Linnunlahti area and beach are nearby, and you can admire the Pielisjoki river even from a canoe. The nationally scenic Koli is 70 kilometers away, and a minibus taxi can be arranged from the hostel. In the city, you can visit the art museum and the artisan Taitokortteli quarter.
